Statement

Art is my way of responding to the world as I share my innermost thoughts through colors, shapes and textures. It is my language of telling stories celebrating individuality and community and is my platform for being heard.

Layering threads is my first medium of choice for telling this story. As each individual thread is laid on top of the other a relationship of each individual part begins to influence the other creating the shape of something much more complex. The threads support one another, imprint each other, and a depth of presence begins to emerge. We can call it community or culture or heritage, but whatever we call it testifies to the reality that each individual thread finds its place in the contours of that which came before it, yet adds its own color and shape and newness in the ever evolving experience we call life, our story.

I seek to express life’s journey, my concerns of our human condition, and our interconnection to All-That-Is in all of its fullness. That which is hidden begins to emerge, and the buried is exposed. Whether in harmony or the ringing of a dissident chord, the story must be told. I hope my work will inspire and invoke what I call the OneHeartMind.
